First Time or Starting again?

Making the decision to pursue or re-enter counseling or therapy takes courage and can be scary. It can also be the best decision of your life. I honor this courage and work to make starting therapy as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

Here’s what you can expect as you start the process:

1) Schedule an appointment. You can call me at 531-222-5783 or email: [email protected] to arrange an appointment. If you're still unsure you are ready to make an appointment,  it’s okay to call  to determine if you think we might be a good fit and to ask any questions you may have about therapy.

3) Insurance. You will need to decide if you want to utilize  insurance benefits to pay for therapy. If so, please contact your insurance company to ask about mental health benefits and to learn about your deductible and co-payment responsibilities. I am currently a provider in-network for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, Nebraska Total Care, Optima Health and Well Care. There are many benefits to paying out of pocket for therapy, so you may want to consider paying privately. I do offer a discounted self-pay rate. If you have questions about how to pay for therapy, please call me.

4) Paperwork. Prior to your session, I will email new client intake in which you will complete on a secure on-line portal and it will be automatically sent back to me. Very easy!

5) First session. During our first session, we’ll spend about an hour together. This is your session and your journey. If you want to get to the "nitty gritty" right away, great! If you want to get to know each other, thats fine too!

6) Length of treatment. I truly believe that everyone is an individual and that people have different needs. Most people find it most helpful to meet once a week (50minute session), and you will decide if you're where you want to be to end or decrease therapy.
